Austin and Carrie's Poem
I love you. Not just for who you are,
but for who I am when I'm with you. I love you.
Not for what you've done with your life...
...but for what you're doing to mine.
I love you for making me good...and happy. And whole.
Because that is what you do, Carrie.
Without a word. Without a gesture. Without a doubt.
Just by being yourself. Such a simple thing...
but no one else in the world could do it.
Only you.
Letter Austin Wrote Carrie
And Attached To The Present He Was To Give Her
For Their Interrupted Wedding
July 28, 1995
Carrie,
This is my wedding present to you. When I saw this I knew it was the present, because it symbolizes our love. Two hearts joined forever today. I can't wait to begin our life together.
I Love You,
Austin
(Carrie opened the present and it was a pendant with two hearts interlaced with one another on a gold chain)
